XANADU ESPRESSO

Copyright 2019 – Robert E. Shandor

When I was young I thought I knew

Everything I needed to be true

Funny how we can’t see our own limitations

I searched a lot for indisputable fact

But didn’t realize there were quotas on that

The road I took was littered with imitations

But I got older and I grew wise

At least I did in my own eyes

Saw the treasures in life are those that can’t be bought

Still my road’s not litter free

‘Cause leaves still fall down from the trees

Might there be truths we don’t need to be taught

Looking out over the glistening dew

I’m thinkin’ ‘bout the years and how they flew

As the morning sun starts to come shining through

I know I need to cherish every minute I use, so

I think I’m gonna sit for a moment or two

And have a Xanadu espresso with you, my friend

Enjoy a Xanadu espresso and you

Still my road’s not litter free

‘Cause leaves still fall down from the trees

Might there be truths we don’t need to be taught

Looking out over the glistening dew

I’m thinkin’ ‘bout the years and how they flew

As the morning sun starts to come shining through

I know I need to cherish every minute I use, so

I think I’m gonna sit for a moment or two

And have a Xanadu espresso with you, my friend

Enjoy a Xanadu espresso and you

Yeah, I think I’m gonna sit for a moment or two

And have a Xanadu espresso with you, my friend

Enjoy a Xanadu espresso and you
And have a Xanadu espresso with you, my friend
Enjoy a Xanadu espresso and you
