PERFUMED LADY

Copyright 1975, 2009 – Robert E. Shandor

That perfumed lady gives me comfort in the night
And for those hours I live in a world of delight
She specializes in fulfilling fantasies
My total satisfaction's what she guarantees

For five long years I’ve been comin’ here
And it’s always just the same
But all the while you know it’s funny how
She never even asked my name
Oh, that perfumed lady

That perfumed lady greets me in a silken robe
I give her money and she puts me on a royal throne
What brings me back here isn’t something I want to see
It’s my addiction, not what she does to me

But how many days can I spend
In someone else’s bed
And how many nights must fall away
Until my loneliness is shed
Oh, that perfumed lady

That perfumed lady gives me comfort in the night
And for those hours I live in a world of delight
Her mask of pleasure sometimes victim to transparency
Behind it, hiding, is her pain laid bare to me

But how many smiles can cross her face
Before it finally starts to crack
And how many dollars can she earn
Before she finally breaks her back
Oh, that perfumed lady

She’ll make you crazy
That perfumed lady
She’ll make you crazy
That perfumed lady
She'll drive you crazy
That perfumed lady
That perfumed lady
