A TIME FOR EVERYTHING

Copyright 2011 – Robert E. Shandor

I’m a dead man walkin’ through the halls
Of a prison I have made
I turned away from all the ones I loved
And now it’s time to pay
In the darkest depths of your mind you’ll find
Curled up on the floor
All the hopes you had for your life
That you hoped for, now you hope for no more

There’s a time to give and a time to take
Like the ebb and flow of tide
There’s a time for thought and a time for deeds
Sometimes these two collide
I never thought about the things I did
As I lived from day to day
But mindless acts always have their costs
Now I can’t find, I cannot find my way

A restless heart can lead us to
A better place that’s found by few
But wanderlust can also close the door
On the world that we once knew
On my selfish quest that went nowhere
I severed all the ties
To a life that might have kept me whole
If I hadn’t been, I had not been so unwise

I’m a dead man walkin’ through the halls
Of a prison I have made
I turned away from all the ones I loved
And now it’s time to pay
In the darkest depths of your mind you’ll find
Curled up on the floor
All the hopes you had for your life
That you hoped for, now you hope for no more

There’s a time for peace and a time for war
And all that each may bring
There’s a time for love, and a time for hate
A time for everything
When we can’t tell when the time is right
We flounder on the shore
When we lose our way and no one’s there
To reach out for, we reach out for no more

(Oh-O, Oh-O-Oh-O-Oh)
----- There’s a time for everything
(Oh-O, Oh-O-Oh-O-Oh)
----- There’s a time for everything
(Oh-O, Oh-O-Oh-O-Oh)
----- There’s a time for everything
